Burning Thoughts

It’s been awhile so let’s get to it…

Congrats to the New Orleans Saints and their fans on their first Super Bowl championship. What a game. The onside kick was a gutsy call and it changed the momentum of the game. Both quarterbacks played well but Tracy Porter’s read on the pick 6 was perfect. Enjoy it New Orleans…

Speaking of enjoying New Orleans, I went to Mardi Gras the following weekend. I heard “Who Dat!” about every 30 seconds and I noticed a few Saints shirts…But unfortunately not many shirts came off since it was freezing. Definitely disappointed in the lack of boobage but overall an awesome experience…

I’m thrilled that the new HBO spring shows are starting up. If you haven’t seen The Life and Times of Tim, it’s a must. Funny stuff…

Oh Tiger Woods…you just don’t get it. He’s always been robotic and came off like a sincerely sorry person but did it with the smug arrogance of entitlement that he clamored about in his apology. He just needs to get back to what he does best…Pulling out a wood and putting from the rough…

Anybody else getting into Curling?…

It’s fitting that the day before the 30th Anniversary of the Miracle on Ice the USA Men’s hockey team rose to the occasion and defeated Canada for the first time in Olympic competition in 50 years in their backyard. Beautiful. I’m not sure if they’ll come away with Gold but they’ll definitely be playing for a medal this weekend while favorites Canada and Russia will be face each other in the quarterfinals guaranteeing to shut one country out of medal…

I don’t care if you don’t like hockey but it’s obvious a lot of people got into USA-Canada last night. If you’re starting to find the sport entertaining I highly encourage watching the Stanley Cup playoffs where this intensity is every night…

Oh and Canada do you see yourselves winning 4 games in 6 days? Pressure…

Burning Thoughts

With no football I took the week off as well…Unless you consider the Pro Bowl football and for that you might as well pull the trigger…

I really wish Showtime would make up its mind on when it’s starting its new year lineup…

Actor Rip Torn was arrested over the weekend for breaking into a bank with a loaded gun. The 78-year-old was so drunk that when the police arrived, he thought he was in his house (allegedly). Granted he’s had some issues with sobriety before. Proud dad!…

Now that football is winding down it’s time to get into college basketball and hockey…

CBB seems watered down this year. Although Kansas, Syracuse, and Villanova really look like Final Four locks…

February 12th the NHL goes into a trade freeze for the Winter Olympics. Then the trade deadline hits on March 3rd right as play resumes. The biggest question is where Ilya Kovalchuk will be traded. Hopefully it’s to my L.A. Kings…

Speaking of the Winter Olympics, which of these sports do people like to watch?…

Apparently on Facebook this week is celebrity look-a-like week or some garbage. Great idea. Now the site that makes people feel more important than they really are will make people feel better looking and more successful than they’ll ever be…And I’ll go with Owen Wilson…

In addition to garbage, I saw Michael Vick is getting his own reality show and Terrell Owens got a go for a 2nd season. If only these two played on the Jersey Show retards may actually watch…

How about Roger Federer?  16 and still counting.  The question is not if but when he’ll get to 20…

I’m taking the Colts…
